Yep, you just need three ingredients for this moist, chocolaty bread. Have it for dessert or a sweet treat for breakfast.
A few years ago, I shared Two Ingredients Muffins here on the blog. We still make them to this day and adore them.
For a switch up, I decided to take the same idea and bake a quick bread. The only ingredient difference is the addition of an egg.
Technically, this recipe has four ingredients. Strictly, because I tossed a few chocolate chips in the batter and on top. This addition give this bread an even more awesome chocolate taste, but, they are optional.
Your Very Short Ingredients List:
- Chocolate cake mix
- Plain Greek yogurt
- Egg
Do You Have to Use Chocolate Cake Mix? No. This recipe will work with any flavor cake mix. Just be sure to stick with about an 18 oz box.
If You Don’t Have Greek Yogurt: You can replace it with sour cream, but, your calorie count will change.

So yummy plus so easy! I made mine with a Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix and used 2 cups sour cream since I didn't have yogurt. I stirred in a handful, about 3 or 4 tablespoons of semi-sweet chocolate chips plus some sprinkled on top. Baked at 340 degrees for 35 minutes. Some chocolate chips burnt but that's how it goes with toaster oven baking! Not your fault at all! I have one more box of the same cake mix. I might try again 🤔 😆

Hi Wendy- The 15 oz will work fine. I've used anything from a 15-18 oz for this bread and it is not problem. Enjoy!
