Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Bake

A quick and easy breakfast casserole full of two types of cheese, breakfast sausage and a crescent roll crust.

Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Bake

Ingredients Needed:

  • Crescent dough
  • Bulk breakfast sausage
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Cream cheese

Crescent dough: Any brand or variety ( low fat/fat free, etc) can be used. You will need two- 8 ounce packages. You can also use the ready made sheets.

Breakfast Sausage: You can go with pork sausage or turkey, hot or mild…your choice! Just be sure it is a bulk sausage that you can crumble as it cooks up.

A delicious casserole for breakfast, brunch or dinner.

Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Bake- -A quick and easy breakfast casserole full of two types of cheese, breakfast sausage and a crescent roll crust.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2-8 oz cans of refrigerator crescent rolls
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
    2. Unroll crescent roll dough into a flat sheet. Spread on bottom of baking dish.
    3. In a large skillet, brown pork sausage until no longer pink. Drain. Wipe down skillet lightly.
    4. Add cream cheese into skillet and heat until melted. Return drained sausage back into the pan and mix well with the cheese.
    5. Once fully mixed, spread sausage mixture evenly on top of dough.
    6. Sprinkle sausage mixture with cheddar cheese. Unroll 2nd crescent roll dough into a flat sheet. Spread on top of cheese.
    7. Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is brown.

How about adding scrambled eggs? How would that work?
