French Toast Bites with Maple Butter Dipping Sauce

Simple and fun! Delicious french toast made into bite sizes pieces that you dunk in a creamy maple butter sauce.

- 6 pieces thick sliced bread, cut into bite sized pieces
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ cup brown sugar for coating
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for coating
- butter for skillet
FOR DIPPING SAUCE:
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup maple syrup
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon for coating. Set aside.
In skillet, over medium heat, melt butter and coat pan.
In a bowl or pie plate, whisk together eggs, milk, ground cinnamon and nutmeg.
Dip bread pieces into egg mixture and coat. Don’t leave in the mixture too long.. the pieces will become soggy quickly.
Cook pieces in skillet for approx 2-3 minutes each or until brown. Work in batches and don’t overcrowd your pan.
Toss warm pieces in brown sugar/cinnamon coating.
Continue with remaining pieces.
