Gordon Ramsay’s Chocolate Chip Cookies are made with flour, baking soda, salt, butter, brown sugar, sugar, vanilla extract, an egg, an egg yolk, and semisweet chocolate chips. They serve about 26 and take about 30 minutes to prepare and bake.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
Put the butter, brown sugar, and sugar in a different bowl. Use an electric mixer to mix them for two to three minutes.
It will be light and creamy after you add the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk. Beat for another two to three minutes.
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix them together just until they are all mixed in. Don't mix too much!
Use a spoon to mix the chocolate chips in.
Put the cookie dough on cookie sheets that have been greased or lined with a silicone baking mat, using a cookie scoop.
Put it in the oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the edges just start to turn brown.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
Proper Measuring: For flour, spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off. Don’t scoop directly from the bag to avoid excess flour.
Melted Butter: The use of melted butter makes the cookies chewier. Make sure it’s cooled slightly before adding to sugars.
Mixing: Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. This adds air and volume to the cookies.
Don’t Overmix: After adding flour, mix just until combined. Overmixing can lead to tough cookies.
Chocolate Chips: Feel free to adjust the amount of chocolate chips to your preference. You can also use a mix of chips, like milk, dark, or white chocolate.
Chill the Dough: If you have time, chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps in getting thicker cookies.
Cooling: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. This allows them to set before moving to a wire rack.
