Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ½ pound Ground Pork
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 Onions chopped
  • 1 Carrot chopped
  • 2 Bell Peppers deseeded, chopped
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 Sprig Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Sauté finely chopped onions, garlic, carrots, and bell peppers in a pan. Once softened, set them aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables, ground beef, ground pork, eggs, milk (or beef broth), parsley, thyme, sugar, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well until everything is fully incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf. Coat the outside evenly with bread crumbs.
  • Place the meatloaf into a loaf pan (or shape it freeform on a greased baking sheet).
  • Bake the meatloaf at 350°F for 60–75 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer registers 160°F (71°C) in the center.
  • Remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Gravy Instructions

  • To make the gravy, sauté all of the vegetables in the butter over medium heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of beef broth with 1 cup of flour until smooth.
  • Slowly pour the broth mixture into the pan, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over sliced meatloaf.

Notes

  • A Meatloaf With A Mediterranean Twist. Ground beef, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, onions, garlic, oregano, and olives go into the making of this meatloaf.
  • Meatloaf With A Mexican Flavor. Diced tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, and ground beef are used in this recipe.
  • Meatloaf With An Asian Twist. Using ground beef, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and scallions, you can give your meatloaf an Asian spin.
  • Spinach And Feta Meatloaf. This recipe is a lighter take on the classic, using lean ground beef, onions, spinach, feta cheese, garlic, oregano, and whole wheat breadcrumbs.
  • Meatloaf With An Italian Flavor. Mix together ground beef, Italian sausage, parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, basil, and diced tomatoes for meatloaf with an Italian flavor.
