Pioneer Woman Garlic Cheese Bread Ingredients

  • French Bread. When it comes to garlic bread, this is by far the greatest option.
  • Butter. This recipe calls for salted butter of the highest possible quality. Cabot or Land O’ Lakes is the one that I prefer to utilize.
  • Fresh Garlic. The mince should be done at home so that it is as fresh as possible.
  • Cheese. The greatest flavor and texture come from Parmesan and mozzarella that has been shredded or grated at home from a block.
  • Italian Salad Dressing. This is completely optional. However, doing so elevates the quality to that of a restaurant. I use the salad dressing from Olive Garden, but you can create something similar at home.

Why Is My Garlic Cheese Bread Soggy?

Garlic Cheese Bread that sits too long before being baked or that is cooked at a temperature that is too low can become soggy. For this recipe, we’ll bake it at 350° until the cheese is melted (10 minutes), then increase the heat to 450° for the remainder of the baking time, about 8 more minutes, or until it begins to brown on the top. Watch it carefully to ensure it doesn’t burn.

I like to use a thick 1lb. loaf of French bread so that I can slice it in half and still have two pieces that are thick enough to hold up underneath the garlic butter spread and cheese.

How To Make Pioneer Women Garlic Cheese Bread

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, garlic, Italian salad dressing, and 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese until thoroughly combined.
  • Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and add equal quantities of garlic butter on top of each side.
  • Place the halves, butter side up, on a baking sheet. Top with the remaining Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted.
  • Bake for a further 8 minutes, or until the top begins to brown, at 450°. During this period, keep an eye on it.
  • Remove from the oven and cut into 1-inch pieces. Serve over spaghetti, soup, or homemade marinara sauce and garnished with parsley.

What To Serve With Stuffed Garlic Bread?

This tasty side dish goes well with a wide variety of main courses and other dishes. Here are a few of the most delicious ways that we enjoy serving garlic bread.

  • Soups. This bread is delicious when dipped into a hearty bowl of soup, which is probably our favorite way to consume it. You may try it with a soup made of tortellini and sausage, lentils from Italy, or a nutritious broccoli cheddar soup.
  • Pasta. Use it to soak up the marinara sauce that comes with your lasagna, pasta bake, or other favorite pasta meal, and serve it with those dishes.
  • Protein. Cheese bread is the ideal side dish to serve alongside entrées prepared in an air fryer, such as pork chops, chicken breasts, London broils, or cornish hens.
  • Consume It Without Anything Else. Absolutely, it is a whole dinner on its own.

Recipe Variations

  • Freshly Grated. For the greatest melting results, use mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese that has been freshly grated. It is not something that I would suggest using powdered pre-grated parmesan cheese for.
  • Lemon Zest. In order to give the butter combination a jolt of brightness, add the grated zest of one lemon.
  • Additional Garlic. Want even more garlic flavor? To the mixture that contains the garlic, add a dusting of garlic powder, which is equivalent to around a quarter to a half teaspoon.
  • Different Cheeses. The stretchiness of mozzarella is one of its many appealing qualities, but if you like, you may substitute any of a number of other cheeses, including cheddar cheese, asiago cheese, cream cheese, pepper jack cheese, or Monterey jack cheese.
  • Add Some Heat To It. Use cheese that already has a kick to it, or add some crushed red pepper flakes to the melted cheese before serving.
  • Make It Italian. To add a jolt of authentic Italian flavor, sprinkle on some Italian herbs.
  • Butter. Remove the butter from the refrigerator approximately two hours before beginning this recipe so that it may soften. In the event that you forget, you can obtain butter that has been partially melted by microwaving it for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • To Taste, Add Additional Shredded Cheese. Before baking the bread, cover the top with a thick layer of cheese so that it will have a significant amount of melted cheese when it is done. Add around a quarter to a half cup of shredded cheese.

How To Store Garlic Cheese Bread?

  • At Room Temperature. It is recommended that garlic cheese bread be kept at room temperature rather than in the refrigerator for optimal freshness. Simply place the cooled slices into a container with a tight-fitting lid or a zip bag in which the air has been pushed out. When stored at room temperature, garlic cheese bread should be good for around two to three days.
  • In The Freezer. Wait until the garlic cheese bread has reached room temperature before wrapping it twice in plastic wrap and then covering it in foil. Garlic cheese bread may be frozen for up to three months; just be sure to mark each loaf with the recipe and the date. When it’s time to turn the heat on
  • To Make Ahead. After following the instructions, prepare the garlic cheese bread and cut it into slices. (don’t bake it.) After flash-freezing it for forty minutes, remove it. Place it in a freezer bag that is airtight, and then you may freeze it for up to three months. Bake the garlic cheese bread at 350 degrees until the cheese is melted and bubbly when you are ready to serve it (about 13 minutes). After that, raise the temperature to 450 degrees and continue baking until the surface starts to become brown (up to 8 more minutes).
  • To Reheat. Reheat any remaining garlic cheese bread by first wrapping it in tin foil, then placing it on a baking sheet, and heating it in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it is fully heated. If you want to reheat garlic cheese bread in the microwave, you should only heat the bread for approximately 10 seconds and then consume it as soon as possible since heating bread in this manner might cause it to become extremely hard.

Some Great Tips for Awesome Garlic Cheese Bread

  • For this particular recipe, the bread that works best is French bread. It has a crunchy outside crust, which enables it to stand up nicely, and it is soft on the inside, which makes it the ideal vehicle for absorbing the cheesy garlic butter spread!
  • Instead of using garlic that has been preserved in a jar, try using garlic that has been freshly minced. When baked, a garlic clove that is not fresh may take on a hue that is between blue and green. Because of the acid in the Italian dressing, this has occurred. It can still be consumed without risk.
  • If you buy blocks of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese and shred or grate them yourself, the finished product will have a superior flavor and will melt more evenly.
  • For the best results, choose components of the highest possible quality. My preferred brands of butter are Cabot and Land O’ Lakes.
