The Pioneer Woman’s Creamy Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls are a quick and easy weekday dinner that the whole family will love. Chicken shredded and smothered in a cheesy cream sauce, baked inside flaky crescent rolls.

The shredded chicken for these creamy Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls can be made from scratch or you can use rotisserie chicken. While we always have frozen shredded chicken on hand, rotisserie chicken is my go-to when I don’t have time to thaw the chicken or make more stock.

What Kind Of Crescent Rolls Are Used?

For these Creamy Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls, we’ll be using refrigerated crescent rolls from a can from Pillsbury, but any store brand equivalent would do.

Can I Make Creamy Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls Ahead of Time?

You may certainly make Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls a few days ahead of time, freeze them, and then take them out on the day you want to serve them if that is what you have planned. Rolls will keep their texture best if you only half bake them, let them cool, and then freeze them.

Ingredients That You’ll Need:

  • Refrigerated crescent rolls: Normally, they are located between the dairy and frozen sections of the grocery store.
  • Cooked shredded chicken or turkey: Rotisserie, canned, or leftover turkey are all great options.
  • Can of cream of chicken soup: In this recipe, I typically choose the original variety, but you can also use reduced-fat or fat-free varieties. The filling will have a less creamy consistency if you use fat-free, but it will still taste good.
  • Cream cheese: It is possible to use reduced-fat, but I do not typically use fat-free because I dislike the taste and texture.
  • Packet Ranch seasoning: You can find this product near the salad dressing.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese: Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls can be made with either bagged shredded cheese or shredded by hand.
  • Sour cream: This recipe works well with full-fat sour cream, but reduced-fat is also acceptable. I dislike the taste of fat-free sour cream and do not recommend it.
  • Black pepper
  • Egg: If brushed on top, the egg gives the broth a golden exterior.

Additional Add-Ins

Here are some of my favorite extras for Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls:

  • Peas, frozen, of course: Just rinse and add 1/4 cup to the mixture.
  • Bacon Crumbles: Has your mouth just started to salivate? That’s great!
  • Cheese: Add some extra cheese, such as mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan.
  • Celery: You should try it! Celery has a nice crunch and gives it texture.
  • Bell Pepper: Why don’t you try it with a red or yellow bell pepper?

How Do I Keep My Chicken Stuffed Crescent Rolls Fresh After Baking?

Most people who try meals with puff pastry or crescent roll pastry find that they don’t taste as fresh after they’ve been made. Not very good, right? The easiest way to fix this is to put them in a container that won’t let air in or a plastic bag that you can seal. So, they will keep their crunchiness and crispness.
