These Pioneer Woman Chocolate Chip Bars are simply a cookie baked in a bar form. Most of your favorite cookie dough recipes can be made into bar cookies! Bar cookies are much easier to make and gooier.

Ingredients That You’ll Need:

  • Butter – Browning the butter gives it the best flavor.
  • Sugar – Both brown sugar and granulated sugar are used.
  • Eggs – In addition to the large egg, I use one large egg yolk, which makes the bars chewier.
  • Vanilla extract – Spend a little more and use pure vanilla extract!
  • Flour – You can use all-purpose gluten-free flour if you need the bars to be gluten-free.
  • Baking powder – A little lift for the bars.
  • Sea salt – This recipe calls for sea salt, and I sprinkle some flaky salt on top. I love the combination of sweet and salty.
  • Cinnamon – The chocolate and oats are complemented by a little cinnamon.
  • Oats – Make sure you use old-fashioned oats, not quick oats. Feel free to use gluten-free oats if you need this Pioneer Woman Chocolate Chip Bars recipe to be gluten-free. Or just omit the oats.
  • Chocolate Chips – It’s my preference to use semi-sweet chocolate chips, feel free to use milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
