Description
Pioneer Woman's Chicken and Dressing Casserole is a traditional cold weather dish! The simple supper requires only around 15 minutes of preparation time, can be prepared in advance, and is appealing to even the pickiest of eaters.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
  2. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
  3. Combine the condensed soups and milk in a large mixing bowl, and stir in the cooked chicken.
  4. Place the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, gently stir the stuffing mix with the melted butter. Sprinkle it over the chicken mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with foil. Cover and bake for about 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked and browned on top.
Notes
  • Use the meat from a purchased rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • If you want to prepare your chicken at home, use approximately 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs. Boil the chicken for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until well done. When the meat is cool enough to be handled, chop or shred it with forks and add it to the recipe.
  • Stove Top Chicken and Stuffing Casserole: Substitute an equal amount of your preferred Stove Top stuffing mix in place of the Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix.
  • Cooking for Two Only? Simply prepare the complete recipe, but divide the ingredients between two 8-inch square baking pans. Freeze the leftover food for later consumption.
