The Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 package deluxe mac and cheese mix
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chicken broth
  • Milk
  • Whipping cream
  • Garlic powder + Onion powder + Paprika + Black pepper
  • Dijon mustard

Deluxe mac and cheese mix? Deluxe mac and cheese mix can be found in the same section as the regular boxed mac and cheese. The difference? Regular boxed mac and cheese comes with powdered cheese. Deluxe mac and cheese comes with a cheese sauce.

No whipping cream on hand? Simply substitute it with another cup of milk.

Dried Spices: Below is the the combination of spices I used. However, they can be increased/decreased to your own preferred taste. Your can also add a few more and make it your own!

Mac and Cheese Soup

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Mac and Cheese Soup! Creamy soup loaded with elbow noodles and a smooth cheese sauce. Goes perfectly with a side of crusty bread and topped with bacon. It's easy to prepare and can be on your dinner table in just under an hour. 

Ingredients

  • 11-12 oz package deluxe macaroni and cheese 
  • 32 oz low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 TBSP Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground paprika
  • black pepper, to taste preference
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil, then, add in dry noodles from mac and cheese package.
  2. Boil noodles for 8-10 minutes or until tender.
  3. Stir in cheese sauce from package, milk, cream, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, mustard and pepper. Stir until fully combined and smooth. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in shredded cheese and cook until fully melted and heated throughout.
  5. Serve immediately.
