Slow Cooker Asian Sesame Turkey Meatballs

Holiday season is upon us! Are you ready? Finish any shopping? Got your menu planned?

For me, I haven’t done any shopping yet and my sister hosts Christmas dinner in our family. No worries about preparing a big dinner, but, I usually contribute an appetizer or dessert to the menu.

Slow Cooker Asian Sesame Turkey Meatballs

This year, I’m bringing an appetizer: Meatballs!

Meatballs are always a popular at our holiday parties. They are flavorful, not too filling and portable. The perfect party food and a little twist for your traditional holiday menu.

These meatballs are also made in your slow cooker. A fabulous option for a holiday party. Serve great food, but, no need to be tied to your kitchen. Let the slow cooker do all the work. 😉

Slow Cooker Asian Sesame Turkey Meatballs

We start these with ground turkey, which, I personally, prefer cooking with. It has a little less fat than ground beef and can be a little less costly. For the sauce, it’s a sweet, but, has a little tang to it and it’s goes perfectly with the mildly seasoned meatballs.

Let’s get these started:

1.Mix your ground turkey with Kikkoman ® Panko Bread Crumbs, eggs, milk, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Mix it well. You want your mixture to be firm and easy to form, but, not too dense. Form the mixture into balls.

2.Next, you will be browning the meatballs in a skillet with a bit of canola oil.  Just for a few minutes. Don’t cook them! Just brown them up a bit. This way, they won’t fall apart in your slow cooker. Place them in your slow cooker and make your sauce.

3.For the sauce, whisk together Kikkoman ® All Purpose Low Sodium Soy Sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ketchup and sesame oil.

4.Pour your sauce over browned meatballs and cook. Two hours later, they are ready to go.

5.Serve with a garnish or sesame seeds and green onions. Don’t forget the toothpicks! They make dining a bit more convenient and a little more fun.

You can find these Kikkoman ® products at your local Walmart. Be sure to check in the Asian food aisle for the soy sauce and the breading aisle for the bread crumbs.

Kikkoman ® bread crumbs are also available in a gluten free version and their soy sauce is available in a low sodium version (our favorite!).

Give your holidays menu a little twist and serve these flavorful and easy Slow Cooker Asian Sesame Turkey Meatballs! A perfect appetizer or even main dish.
