Ground Beef (or Turkey) Taco Meat–A delicious seasoned mix for your ground beef (or turkey!) taco dishes.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Ground Beef ( or Turkey)
  • Minced onion
  • Taco Seasoning
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Cornstarch

Ground Beef/Turkey: If desired, you can even use this for ground chicken or pork. Just remember, if needed, drain the meat after the meat is no longer pink.

Minced Onion: You can use a fresh onion for this, if you wish. Add it in when you are browning the meat.

Taco Seasoning: I have included the recipe for a homemade version. But, feel free to use your favorite homemade recipe or packaged brand.

A delicious seasoned mix for your ground beef (or turkey!) taco dishes.

Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes


  • 2 lbs ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1/4 cup dry minced onion
  • 1 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 3 TBSP taco seasoning (see below for ingredients)
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • taco stuff..shells, tomatoes, cheese, beans, lettuce, salsa, onions, sour cream, etc


  • 2 TBSP ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
  • Blend is small bowl. Store in covered container.


  1. In a large skillet, brown ground beef until no longer pink. If necessary, drain the meat . Stir in minced onion, tomato sauce and taco seasoning and mix well.
  2. Increase heat to a mild boil. Add in cornstarch. Then, simmer for 15 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Serve on taco shells and garnish as desired.
