    Classic One Pot Sloppy Joes from Table for Seven

    Here is another recipe from way back in 2011 that we are re-visiting.

    Sloppy Joes!

    I know there are probably six hundred million sloppy joe recipes out there, but,this, is the one you need to be making. Seriously, this is my most favorite dish from my childhood.  When the smell of these hits my kitchen, it brings me back to my mom’s kitchen. 🧡 She still makes them the exact same way to this day.

    Side these classic sandwiches up with a pile of chips..perfection!

    Classic Sloppy Joes

    Description

    Feed a crowd with these classic and flavorful Sloppy Joes!


    Ingredients

    • 2 lbs ground beef
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 2 TBSP vinegar
    • 2 TBSP brown sugar
    • 1 TBSP lemon juice
    • 26 oz ketchup
    • 3 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 TBSP dry mustard
    • 1 celery stalk, chopped or leave whole while simmering, then, remove

    Instructions

    1. Brown ground beef in skillet, drain (if necessary), then, add into a large pot.
    2. Add all remaining ingredients to ground beef and simmer on low for an hour.

    Notes

    • Yes, this does in fact call for 26 oz of ketchup, it is  for 2 pounds of ground beef..makes alot of sloppy joes. This also freezes great, just in case it’s too much for you at one sitting}
